1878

Manufacturing of the First National Plough

The Italian Nicolás Schneider (in Esperanza, Province of Santa Fe) manufactures the first national plough.

1880

On Par with Great Powers

As from this decade, the local use of threshers and shellers is the same as that in the US.

1910

Steam-powered Thresher

Juan Istilart manufactures a steam-powered thresher, and its engine use is widely spread.

1915

Manufacture Commencement

The manufacturing of different agriculture implements starts to become widespread.

1922

First animal-drawn harvesters

Juan and Emilio Senor manufacture the first national animal-drawn harvesters.

1925

1929

First Self-propelled Harvester in the World

Antonio Rotania (in Sunchales, Province of Santa Fe) manufactures the first self-propelled harvester in the world.

1932

Improving Rotania’s Harvester

Miguel Druetta improves Rotania´s harvester by adding a cutting platform at the front.

1939 - 1945

Second World War

The Argentine industry supplies most of agriculture machinery required by our country during the Second World War.

1941

Manufacturing of Track Rice Harvester

Santiago Puzzi manufactures the first track rice harvester (in Clusellas, Province of Santa Fe).

1944

Sunflower Harvesters

Carlos Mainero (in Bell Ville, Province of Córdoba) and Minervino implement the first sunflower harvesters in the world.

1950

The Argentine Industry Grows

Vassalli and Giubergia pioneer the manufacturing of corn harvesters in the world. Global spreading of diesel tractors.

1951

Vassalli´s Innovation

Vassalli manufactures the first corn header for direct threshing.

1955

FIAT

First tractor factory in Argentina. Diesel engine. Córdoba “FIAT”

1954

Argentina Harvesters with Good Capacity

There appear the first Argentine harvesters with good capacity, series manufacturing, Vassalli. 75CV, 16- foot cut. Other factories: Senor, Bernardín, Rotania, Giubergia, among the renowned ones.

1956

A Year Full of News

First thick grain seeders. INTA Foundation.

1957

CREA

The Regional Consortium for Agricultural Experimentation “CREA” is founded, agricultural technology.

1960

Great Advances

In forage, drag and self-driven windrowers. First harvesters with bulk storage systems. First 5 and 6-tonne seed tenders, with 2 axis and 4 wheels with gravity bulk unloading. Seed tender. First 600-lt rail sprayers, mostly of 3 points. Tillage characterised by mouldboard, light disc harrow and spike-toothed harrow for sowing bed.

National Industry

First national sowing machines of thin grains for tractor drive

1967

Continuous Flow

First continuous flow dryer

1970

Further Improvements

Forage: First drag grinders. Mainero manufactures the first baling machine. The first sprinkler irrigation equipments in Argentina.

1972

First Circular Windrowers and Stellar Rakes

There appear the first circular windrowers and stellar rakes

1974

Forage: first drag fine-chopping grinders for the whole corn plant. First Pla’s self-driven sprayer.

1978

Arrival of imported harvesters, some axial-flow Case/Internacional and New Holland TR.

1980

Introduction of the first centre pivot irrigation with electrical and/or oil-hydraulic improvements. Forage: first national round balers, Mainero, Sode, Monterrey, Susana, and others.

1983

The birth of the double disc coarse grain and double limiting wheel attached seeder. There appear the first floating flexible heads.

1985

A Technological Hop

Introduction of the cannon irrigation equipments. Introduction of dripping irrigation for fruits and vegetables. A further technological advance in the construction of harvesters in Argentina, there appears the Vassalli 1200. Forage: first imported self-driven grinders, with 4 rows and over 200 CV. New Holland and Class.

1990

Packed Haylage

Forage: first haylage packing machines

1991

Massive Introduction of Maxi-harvesters (230 – 320 CV), 30 feet cut

1993

Arrival of new sunflower heads

1996

Centre pivots start to be built in Argentina by Zanello, Montenegro, among other companies. First samples of wheat silo bags. There appears the Precision Crop Management in Argentina. There appears the turbo cutting blade and removal of thick and thin grains. Forage: corn silage with self-driven grinders is generalised.

1997

Forage: round balers change and become more accurate and with more capacity; the use of mixers increases.

1998

. Strong technological growth in self-driven sprayers, satellite flagmen, interactive computers, multiple peaks, compressed air suspension, 3,000-lt tanks. The first smart seeders appear. Variable dosing with satellite guidance.

2000

The first plastic rolled up silo bags extractors. Patent: Palou. Self-unloading hoppers, with 1 and 2 axes and an 18-tonne capacity, are widely adopted

2002

Directa Sowing consolidates in Argentina. Agrochemical application with self-driven sprayers consolidates; the satellite flagman, VRT computers to apply liquid fertilisers (UAN Plus) gen, “contractors.”

2005

Power-shift gear box tractors are widely adopted. INTA Reconquista designs a modern cotton harvester, Javiyu, with Stripper system, comber, cleaner and storage container (Dolbi).

2006

The first national maxi-harvesters appear.

2007

National self-driven sprayers with climate sensors

2008

The sale of Axial Vassalli 7500 a Same/Deutz Fah harvester patent is announced. First flexible/floating head, 40 feet, tarpaulin-through feeding, support wheels, by Piersanti company.

2009

First air compression system seeders for coarse grain with individual electrical assistance, with suction engines and individual cinematic gear per body, all with Can Bus signals, by Schiarre company, Córdoba.
